Highlights from 2018 – 2019

Well done to the choir and instrumentalists for their beautiful music at the annual mass for Principals and Managers of our second level schools in Killarney, Co Kerry.

Congratulations to Shane Quinn who was awarded overall prizewinner at the 2019 EPTA competitions in the NCH, and to Orla Hennessy and Enda Keating who also performed at the prizewinners concert after being awarded joint 2nd place in their class.

Congratulations to Faolán Ly who was selected to perform at the annual Feis Ceoil Gala Concert in the National Concert Hall following his 1st prize award for Advanced Organ playing at this year's Feis competitions.

Sincere thanks to Professor Gerard Gillen who shared many insights relating to the set repertoire for this year's competitions. We were delighted to have so many competitors this year from St Finian's participating in all four Feis Ceoil organ competitions.

Congratulations to our School Choir, soloists and School Orchestra who joined forces with all the local secondary schools for a wonderful evening of Music in support of many worthwhile teenage charities.

The National Symphony Orchestra performed Symphonie Fantastique by Berlioz for our senior students.

A warm welcome to our two new first year students, Tori Coyne and Caomhan McGabhann, both from Westmeath. We also welcome Conor Diamond from Ballina, Co Mayo into Transition Year.
